Your 8 Must-Knows About the Qualifier

Admit it. You’ve decided to sign up for the 2018 Granite Games Online Qualifier, but there are still a few things you don’t know about it.

Well, if you give us roughly 2 minutes, we’ll brief you on the 8 things you need to know to get yourself ready for action!

1. Everyone does the Qualifier

Whether you want to compete as an individual or on a team, you must take part in the Online Qualifier to compete onsite at the Granite Games.

2. Join in on the fun

Registration for the Online Qualifier closes June 18th at 5pm CDT. Workouts will be announced every Wednesday starting June 13th at 7pm CDT and score submissions will be due by 5pm CDT the following Monday.

3. New this year

Want to help out your community? Register using your community’s affiliate link. Before registering on our website, check to see if your gym, coach, or favorite athlete has a link for you to register with.

4. The Qualifier is an online competition done in the comfort of your own gym

Test your fitness, get your sweat on with friends and have a blast with the Granite Games community, all from the familiar setting of your own home gym.

5. 3 weeks

The Online Qualifier takes place over 3 weeks, starting June 13th and finishing July 2nd.

6. Win prizes!

Aside from qualifying for the main event, there are perks! Throughout the Qualifier, we’ll randomly choose registered athletes to win prizes from our partners!

7. Draft your team

After the Online Qualifier, you’ll have the opportunity to form a Co-ed Team of 4 or a Team of 3 and submit your group scores. Your team score will determine your team’s rank in September.

Dynamic Warm-Up – Mobility Prepare  for..

1 minute test knees to 90 ( Log score & test from last time done)

Primer:  Coaches choice

A. Strength – Skill: 21 minute “E3MOM”  complete.
2x OH Squat * NOTE athletes pause 1001 and stabilize in the hole, avoid rushing out of the hole
8x Jumping split lunges (4 each leg) “Explosive”
1x Weighted strict pull up
Climb in weight with good mechanics to today’s AHAFA 7 sets (Start @ 50-60% 1 RM. Avoid big jumps in lbs.)

B.WOD : 10 Min E2MON”
5 Sets of:
40 Double unders / 50 Singles + 1 Squat Snatch, start @ 50% of today’s OHS and climb in weight with good mechanics

Team Cool Down: 100 Rocky sit ups ( double twist at top), every 20 stop and do 1  Mobility hold for 30- 20 sec each body part till finished with Yo Adrian situps
