I have lived in Utah my whole life. I was never an athlete growing up. I never participated in school sports. I leaned more towards individual activities such as snowboarding and skateboarding. I enjoyed going to the gym and doing what I thought was “lifting.” Doing the few lifts I learned back in high school, the standard curls, triceps-extensions and benching. I figured getting in shape was doing these same movements with a little bit of running on the treadmill.
It wasn’t until a diagnosis of Hypothyroidism that pushed me to make some serious changes in my life. I immediately went out and bought a juicer and P90X. I like to credit Tony Horton for opening my eyes to pull-ups, pushups and plyometrics. After trying home programs and Gold’s Gym for a few years, I started incorporating the workouts from the CrossFit mainsite. I was drawn to challenge of learning all of these new movements and realizing I could push myself harder than ever before. After a year of doing quasi-CrossFit workouts I joined Letrono in 2015 and have never looked back.
Through CrossFit I’ve been able to see changes not only in my body but also in my mind. I love CrossFit because it’s a holistic approach to fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I love helping people succeed and overcome obstacles in their lives that CrossFit has helped me overcome.
In my free time I enjoy photography, longboarding, snowboarding, music, hiking, paddleboarding, running, Spartan Races and a good peanut butter bar.
